To the Residents of the District of Columbia:
Although I have been a member of Team DMV for over three years,
I continue to be amazed at how far we have come as an agency and
how far we still must travel. It is a constant struggle to balance
our regulatory requirements for licensing, registration, inspection
and adjudication services with our goal of customer service. We
have adopted the “Find the Simple Legal Yes” philosophy….as long
as it is legal, we will look for ways to resolve your issues and
provide you service.
We are also looking for innovative ways to improve our processes
and further enhance our service delivery. We are currently working
on providing you with a new queuing system, an enhanced knowledge
test, a streamlined inspection process and the synchronization
of the vehicle registration and inspection dates. We have also
established a new training division to increase employee training,
especially in terms of customer service. We know that you also
have great ideas, so I encourage you to submit any suggestions
to me by email to dmv@dc.gov.
I am delighted to serve the residents of this great city, in
which I live, and I look forward to ensuring we meet and exceed
your expectations.
