Hauling Permit Exceptions
District of Columbia law prohibits a carrier from exceeding 25,000 pounds of gross vehicle weight (GVW) on public space. Exceptions to the 25,000 pound gross vehicle weight limit can be provided by application to DDOT, the DC Department of Transportation. A petitioner is required to submit a formal application and pay a fee for exceptions to the 25,000 pound weight limit.
