Disability Tags and Parking Placard/Permit Renewal

How do I renew my disability tags?

You will receive a renewal notice approximately 60 days prior to your tags expiring. You may renew your disability vehicle tags by mail at DC DMV, ATTN: Disability Services, PO Box 90120, Washington, DC 20090 or online. You must complete an Application for Disability Parking Placard or Tags* and follow the registration renewal process to renew the disability tags. You will be required to pay the tag renewal fee.

How do I renew my parking placard/permit?

Temporary and long-term parking placards are renewable within 60 days of their expiration. The one-week parking permit is not renewable within a one-year period. You must complete an Application for Disability Parking Placard or Tags* in order to renew a temporary or long-term parking placard. You (or your designee) may renew your parking placard in person at any DMV service center location, by fax at (202) 673-9908 or by mail. If renewing a temporary or long-term parking placard by mail, please send the completed Application for Disability Parking Placard or Tags* to DC DMV, ATTN: Disability Services, PO Box 90120, Washington, DC 20090. If you give someone permission to renew a temporary or long-term parking placard for you at a DMV service center, they must bring a copy of your drivers license or identification card and a letter that is signed by you with them to the DMV service center.
